His research focuses on public health and health economics and international comparison of health systems. He is the author of the comprehensive monographs Health Economics and International Comparison of Health Systems. He is the author or co-author of several dozen publications focusing on cost analysis in health care, macroeconomic context of health care, international comparison of health systems, dependency, social policy and health-social interface. He is a member of the board of the Society of Social Medicine and Health Care Management of the Czech medical society JEP. He has been working with Czech HTA continuously since 2014.
