doc. Dr.Rer.Nat. Aleš Tichopád

Aleš is a specialist in real-world evidence, an associate professor, and the head of research in the CzechHTA team at the Faculty of Biomedical Engineering, Czech Technical University (ČVUT). His specialization is the analysis of large healthcare data to understand the efficiency and economics of healthcare processes, including the application of HTA methods. He has been active in the fields of HTA and health economics since 2003. Between 2001 and 2013, as a doctoral and postdoctoral researcher at the Technical University of Munich, he focused on developing molecular diagnostic methods based on real-time PCR, particularly algorithms for data processing. He has been working with the CzechHTA team since 2013, with a three-year break. Previously, Aleš worked at international research organizations such as IMFORM (now Premier Research), Kendle (now Syneos Health), and CEEOR (from 2015 to 2018 Kantar Health). In 2004, he defended his doctoral thesis in Life Sciences at the Technical University of Munich and became an associate professor in biomedical engineering in 2023. He is the author of more than 50 international publications in impact-factor journals, which have garnered over 5000 citations.
